Tucked away at the Oversea Union Garden (OUG) shop lots, and some 15 Km away from Kuala Lumpur, is this nice kopitiam called Jacky’s Nasi Lemak Cafe. Authentic Nyonya, plus some Western and local cuisines, is the main choice at Jacky’s.

As the shop name implies Nasi Lemak is the signature rice served here. The tasty Nasi Lemak is a traditional Malay way of preparing rice. Rice is soaked in rich coconut cream, and then pandan leaves, ginger, and lemon grass are thrown in for addition fragrance, all these are steamed until ready.

Other than Nasi Lemak, another popular speciality here is the Nasi Briyani. This is fried rice with a twist of persian style, special spices are added into the cooking process.

At Jacky’s the Nasi Lemak or Nasi Briyani are served mixed with one or two selection of meats and seafoods. These mouth watering selections include the Bali Rendang Beef, Northern Curry Mutton, Nanyang Curry Sotong, Penang Curry Prawn, Tempura Fish Fillet and Nyomya Pork Ribs. Malaysians’ love of chicken is not forgotten too, the chicken dishes available are Tropical Fried Chicken. Bali Rendang Chicken, and Nyonya Curry Chicken.

For the single selection the price starts at RM 6.80 and for the duo selection the price starts at RM 8.80. Note: Malaysian Chinese are very fond of the number 8.

For drinks Jacky’s Nasi Lemak Cafe has three categories in Fancy Ice Blended, Shacked Ice Drinks, and soft drinks. Notable drinks for the fancy ice blended are Cappuccino Coffee Jelly, Mocha Coffee Jelly, and Tiramisu Coffee Jelly. While for the Shanked Ice Drinks there are Calamansi Plum, Honey Lemon Aloe Vera, and Passion Jasmine Green Tea, just to name a few.

The interior of Jacky’s Nasi Lemak Cafe is deco with simple wooden furnitures and the colour scheme is earthly warm hues. The place is also air-conditioned, plus a relaxed atmosphere, it is a nice place to have lunch and dinner. Lots of Magazines to entertain those who want to chill out at the cafe.
